I. Brief Introduction to Binzhou University

Located in Binzhou City, the hometown of Sun Tzu (Chinese great ancient military strategist), Bohai Sea old revolutionary base area, and the hinterland of beautiful and rich Yellow River Delta, Binzhou University is one of the comprehensive universities approved by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in 2004. The campus covers an area of 113.15 hectares with a total fixed assets property valuing 1.219 billion RMB including teaching and scientific research equipment valuing 10.16636 million RMB and 1.3744 million volumes of books in the library. 19 experiment centers or offices have been set up, including 2 provincial-level experiment teaching model centers. It provides higher education to 17403 full-time students from 22 cities and provinces in China. The current number of teaching and administrative staff reaches 1279, among which there are 933 teaching staff. Binzhou University has 42 undergraduate specialties distributed throughout 21 departments or institutes, 2 provincial-level talent cultivation model innovation experiment sections, 2 provincial-level key specialties, 7 provincial-level characteristic majors and 13 provincial-level fine courses. The applied talents training mode has been fundamentally formed; therefore, the educational teaching quality has been continuously improved. More than 800 credentials at provincial level or above have been achieved in all kinds of academic competitions. Postgraduate enrollment and graduate first employment rate ranks the top among the similar universities in Shandong Province. Shandong Provincial Postgraduate Joint Training Base has been established in Binzhou University. Binzhou University has established Research Institute on Yellow River Delta High Efficiency Eco-economic Development, Yellow River Delta Technology Transfer Center and China Academy of Safety Science and Technology Binzhou Branch. Binzhou University has 12 provincial-level scientific research innovation platforms including Shandong Province Key Laboratory on Yellow River Delta Ecological Environment and 5 municipal-level scientific research innovation platforms. Binzhou University has undertaken 21 state-level scientific projects and obtained over 32 provincial-level prizes on scientific research. Binzhou University has attached much attention to characteristic brands, such as Yellow River Delta ecology, Yellow River Delta culture and Sun Tzu culture. Binzhou University has carried out Serving Binzhou’s Scientific Development Action Plan to serve the development and construction of Shandong Peninsular Blue Economic Zone and Yellow River Delta High Efficiency Eco-economic zone and has made positive contributions to the economic and social development of Binzhou City. Binzhou University has been awarded over 30 honorary titles, such as “National Legal Publicity Education Advanced Unit”, “National Forestation Model Unit”, “Provincial Civilization Unit”, “Shandong Provincial University Civilization Campus”, “Shandong Provincial Outstanding University at Teacher’s Ethics Construction” and “Shandong Provincial University Safe Campus”, etc. Binzhou University always opens up to the world to run the university, having established friendly cooperative relationship with 11 overseas universities in France, Russia, etc., and having implemented 4 cooperative school-running programs in the fields of Financial Management, Marketing, Tourism and Accounting. 66 international teachers have been employed to teach in Binzhou University and 170 short-term or long-term international students from France, Korea, USA, Spain, Tunisia, Morocco, etc. have received the education in Chinese language and culture and some specialty courses. Binzhou University pays attention to the education for international students. An administrative office has been established to manage the affairs related to international students; highly qualified staff have been selected to be instructors; teaching team for international students consists of excellent teachers; dormitory building for international students has been available with complete facilities, including public kitchen, public entertainment room, etc.; medical insurance and personal accident insurance have been provided for international students.

IV. Introduction to Educational Characteristics

i. Bilingual teaching in small group.

ii. Adopting international teaching concepts to set up specialties and optional courses, such as Chinese Kongfu, Calligraphy, Cooking, Music, Paper cutting, etc.

iii. Exerting the geographical advantage of “the native residence of Sun Tzu” to hold lectures on the knowledge and application of Sun Tzu’s military science.

V. Application Requirements and Procedures

The following materials are required for studying in Binzhou University:

i. Binzhou University Application Form for International  Students;
ii. Physical Examination Record for Foreigners (photocopy);
iii.One copy of valid passport;

iv. One copy of most recent diploma;

v. HSK certificate (photocopy; for undergraduate and graduate only);
vi. Two passport photographs.

Once an applicant is accepted, he will receive a Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202 form) and the Admission Notice from Binzhou University. With the completed application form, the Admission notice and the original copy of the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners, the applicant may obtain an X visa (study over half year) or an F visa (study less than half year) on request from the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate. Short-term students can apply for an L or F visa to enter China.
